July net worth report

I love using Mint to update my monthly net worth. Saves me the trouble of having to log on separately to everything to see the most recent balances. Here's my July net worth, which went up about $11,000 thanks to a big lump sum payment I made to my 403(b) before I left my job.

Assets:

  • Cash: $63,442
  • Retirement: $111,941
  • Home: $175,750
  • Other real estate: $135,000
  • Personal property: $4,000
Liabilities:
  • Home mortgage: $140,419
  • Other mortgage: $131,530
  • Student loans: $21,570
Total assets: $490,133
Total liabilities: $293,519

Net worth: $196,614

Do you like using Mint.com? I want to use it, but the thought of giving them the login and passwords to all my bank accounts is a little scarey. Did that worry you at all?

Carol, I do like using Mint. I was freaked at first, too, but I decided the convenience was worth it. Plus I've read about enough other people using Mint that I figure it's just as safe as any other sites where you share login and credit card information.

Now instead of having to log on to a dozen or so accounts separately to view balances, it's all consolidated on one site.
